In 1976, Porsche sought a collaboration with Optyl to manufacture eyeglasses. At the time, Optyl already had its own brand called Carrera. Thus in 1977, they launched a collaborative brand called Porsche Design by Carrera which became widely popular. The beautiful collaboration came to an end in the late 90's when Optyl closed down its factory which makes these sunglasses very exclusive.

This eyepiece is close to 30 years old and has the Porsche Design logo on the lens and the inner rim of the frame.

These wonderful sunglasses feature a peculiar and sophisticated nose piece in metal and clear silicone single piece pads with an articulated top hinge where both sides open and close in conjunction and simultaneously to assure the perfect fit and symmetry of the piece in all situations and all nose sizes
