In 1976, Porsche sought a collaboration with Optyl to manufacture eyeglasses. At the time, Optyl already had its own brand called Carrera. Thus in 1977, they launched a collaborative brand called Porsche Design by Carrera which became widely popular. The beautiful collaboration came to an end in the late 90's when Optyl closed down its factory which makes these sunglasses very exclusive.

This eyepiece is close to 30 years old and has the Porsche Design logo on the lens and the inner rim of the frame.

The sunglasses are fitted with C80 lenses which is a brown gradient lens engraved with PORSCHE DESIGN and PD logo outside the top left corner.
